NFL teams across the nation will soon be opening their preseason training camps, and that means there’s no better time to buy an NFL hard hat than right now. No matter which team you cheer for, there’s an NFL hard hat for you. Of course, if you happen to be a Cleveland Browns fan, you may not be interested in putting on an NFL hard hat. Way to go picking Colt McCoy, Cleveland! I’m sure that’s going to work out for you, especially since Cleveland has such a great track record of developing young quarterbacks. Not to mention the fact that McCoy is a really tough guy that’s sure to do well in the NFL. Did you see the way he was easily knocked out of the BCS title game? Wow! They must only make men like that in Texas!

Just kidding, Cleveland! As a Steelers fan I wish the Browns all the best! It also really broke my heart to see LeBron James leave your city. LOL!

Another great thing about owning an NFL hard hat is that fact that you can wear it to work as well as around the house. That’s right, fellows! Since NFL hard hats meet any and all safety standards the government has come up with, you can wear your NFL hard hat to work! Just imagine how impressed your friends will be when you come strutting into the place wearing a shinny new NFL hard hat! It will be as if you arrived in a Lamborghini or Porsche! Freaking wicked!

So, there you have it. NFL hard hats are the only way to go this upcoming football season. Hurry up and get yours today or you may wind up disappointed. NFL hard hats are so awesome I almost went insane while writing this article!! Go Steelers!

Hard hats, although necessary, are sometimes not likely to be worn because they look so unfashionable and dated. It seems their design has stayed the same for decades, never changing; remaining dull and boring—it’s no wonder nobody wants to wear them—even though the wearing of a hard hat is mandatory on a construction site if there is even the remotest chance of an object striking a visitor or an employee; and must always be worn near scaffolding or overhead work.

cowboy hard hatGreat news for all construction cowboys out there who love wearing their Stetson hats. Vulcan Cowboy Hard Hats are styled after the popular Stetson and come in two types; regular suspension and ratchet suspension. High density polyethylene resists penetration, deflecting falling objects and preventing serious head injuries that are so common on construction sites. These hard hats prevent injury from low to high voltage electrical conductors; additionally they are water resistant and slow burning. The extra wide brim on both hard hat models offers more protection from UV rays, glare, splash and rain than traditional old-fashioned hard hats. Featuring the classic pinched top of the classic Stetson hat, these popular hard hats fit most hat sizes and comply with ANSI Z89.1, Type 1, Class E, G, and C.

These hard hats include a 6-point ratchet suspension system, which is fantastic for making small, quick adjustments. These classic-looking cowboy hard hat cowboy hard hats are made with pride in the USA in a variety of colors to suit all tastes. Custom company logos can be imprinted on your order for an additional charge.

These stylish and innovative cowboy hard hats will be worn by your workers even when they’re not mandatory. Generous bulk discounts are offered on your order; the more hard hats you purchase; the more money you save. Simply choose the style that best fits your needs and your budget. These items are shipped between 2-3 business days.

When To Wear a Hard Hat May 20, 2009

If you’re like most employers, I’m sure you’ve got a lot more to worry about in running your business this year without having to think about whether or not your employees are wearing hard hats.

Here at the Discount Safety Store, we often get many questions from construction and industrial workers asking us, “When am I supposed to wear a hard hat?”  And much more importantly, “When do my employees need to wear head protection as well?”  Although there are differing opinions as to the exact time and place that hard hats should be worn, we’ve put together a short set of guidelines that we hope will help you and your employees make it through the work day a bit smoother – and safer.

hard hat

You must provide head protection for your employees if:

  • There is a risk of objects falling from above that may have a reasonable chance of striking them on the head
  • They have a reasonable risk of  bumping their heads against fixed objects such as exposed pipes or beams
  • They are working near exposed electrical conductors or in other related environments

In general, all hard hats and other related protective head wear should:

  • Be resistant to  penetration by all other objects on the job site
  • Easily be able to absorb the shock of a blow
  • Be water and fire resistant
  • Be properly worn at all times according to the instructions for each specific type of hard hat

Hard hats require a hard outer shell along with a shock-absorbing lining. The hard hat shock absorbing lining should incorporate a head band along with straps that suspend the shell from 1 to 1.25 inches (2.54 cm to 3.18 cm) away from the wearer’s head. This design provides shock absorption during impact and also allows for ventilation during wear.

Are you a business owner or contractor with employees to keep safe? If so, you need to be aware of head protection requirements set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). As an employer it is your responsibility to protect your employees from potential head injuries that can leave them impaired for life or end up being a fatality. How do you prevent these unfortunate incidents from occurring? You provide all of your employees hard hats to protect them from impact and penetration hazards as well as electrical shock and burn hazards. Before you run out to purchase hard hats make sure to make an assessment of the work environment.

Does your business employ one or more of the following: construction workers, carpenters, electricians, linemen, plumbers and pipefitters, timber and log cutters, welders, etc.? Is your business one that employees are working in environments where there is a danger of objects falling from above, working below others who are using tools, or working under a conveyor belt? If you answered one or both questions with a yes then you need to assess whether or not your employees come into contact with any of the following hazards:

* Objects may fall from above and strike them on the head

* Potential to bump their heads against fixed objects, such as exposed pipes or beams

* There is a possibility of accidental head contact with electrical hazards

Construction Workers Wearing Hard HatsDo your employees encounter any of the prior mentioned hazards? If you answered yes to this question, now is the time to explain what hard hats should do. They should:

* Resist penetration by objects.

* Absorb the shock of a blow.

* Be water resistant and slow burning.

* Have clear instruction explaining proper adjustment and replacement of the suspension and headband.

All head protection gear must have a hard outer shell and a suspension system that elevates the shell between 1″ – 1 ¼” above the employee’s head. This design provides shock absorption in the event of an impact and ventilation during normal wear. In addition to proper design; all hard hats must comply with ANSI Standard Z89.1-2003.

I can tell you that complying with OSHA will prevent your business from being fined and significant reduction in production losses. It is definitely worth it to follow the law and protect your employees. Your business operates smoothly and your employees are safe – it is the perfect work environment. Do you have additional information to add? If so, please, leave a comment below – comments are always welcome.
